A tres meses de la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud hay cerca de 400.000 jóvenes inscritos de 182 países
Madrid, 30 de mayo de 2011.- Esta mañana los Príncipes de Asturias han recibido a los representantes de la Fundación Madrid Vivo y a miembros del Comité Organizador de la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud (JMJ). La Fundación Madrid Vivo es una de las fundaciones que están colaborando para que la JMJ sea una realidad.
Los Príncipes de Asturias han mostrado su apoyo e ilusión ante este gran acontecimiento de importante proyección internacional y trascendencia social. Además han manifestado estar muy pendientes de todos los preparativos de la Jornada Mundial, que siguen con la ilusión de estar viviendo la antesala de una ocasión única para España.
En el acto el cardenal de Madrid y presidente del Comité Organizador de esta JMJ, Antonio María Rouco Varela, ha hablado de la ‘Generación de la esperanza’, refiriéndose a los muchos jóvenes que vendrán a la JMJ procedentes de todo el mundo, y descubrirán allí una visión esperanzadora y llena de alegría de la vida, donde la ‘civilización del amor’ no es una utopía.
Como una muestra de cariño, los organizadores han hecho entrega a los Príncipes de Asturias de unas camisetas de la JMJ para sus hijas, y un reloj de la Jornada para cada uno.
No es la primera vez que el Príncipe muestra su apoyo a la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud. Con motivo de la visita de Benedicto XVI a Santiago de Compostela en noviembre pasado, el Príncipe de Asturias resaltó ante el Papa el honor de celebrar en Madrid la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud. Asimismo el día de la beatificación de Juan Pablo II, el Príncipe de Asturias se despidió del Pontífice con un ‘Santo Padre: ¡le esperamos en Madrid!’
Actualmente cerca de 400.000 jóvenes de 182 países ya se han inscrito en la Jornada Mundial de Madrid.

Prince and Princess of Asturias show their support and enthusiasm for the social impact of WYD
This morning, the Prince and Princess of Asturias received the Madrid Vivo Foundation and representatives of the World Youth Day Organizing Committee
During the encounter, they showed their great interest in the preparations underway and their enthusiasm for being at the threshold of what will prove to be a unique opportunity for Spain
Just three months away from World Youth Day, there are nearly 400,000 youth from 182 countries registered
Madrid, May 30, 2011 - This morning, the Prince and Princess of Asturias received representatives of the Madrid Vivo Foundation and members of the World Youth Day (WYD) Organizing Committee. The Madrid Vivo Foundation is one of the foundations that is working to make World Youth Day a reality.
The Prince and Princess of Asturias have shown their support and enthusiasm for this great event of international importance and social significance. They also showed their great interest in the preparations underway and their enthusiasm for being at the threshold of what will prove to be a unique opportunity for Spain.
During the encounter, the Cardinal of Madrid and President of the Organizing Committee of the upcoming World Youth Day, Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, spoke of the “Generation of Hope”, referring to the many young people from around the world who will come to WYD and discover a vision of hope and joy for a life in which the “civilization of love” is not merely a utopia.
As a sign of their affection, organizers presented the Prince and Princess of Asturias with World Youth Day t-shirts for their daughters, and a WYD watch for each of them.
It is not the first time the Prince shows his support for World Youth Day. On the occasion of Benedict XVI's visit to Santiago de Compostela in November, the Prince of Asturias spoke in the Pope’s presence of the great honor of celebrating World Youth Day in Madrid. Likewise, on the day of the beatification of John Paul II, the Prince of Asturias bid farewell to the Pope saying: “Holy Father, we await you in Madrid!”
There are currently about 400,000 young people from 182 countries registered for World Youth Day in Madrid.
